Oh hi, guys!
I’m writing this from Blue Bottle in Venice working in the sun on a Sunday late evening. I am so excited and grateful to be here writing with you all! Happy Monday!
I was thinking about my newsletters and how I find inspiration for them. I was thinking about my roots. What did I use to write about? How did we get here? “Here,” being a pretty good newsletter subscription number and more support than I could imagine.
I used to write about vibes, ya know? I love how this newsletter turned into a journal and a life lesson celebration, but I kind of miss my more random newsletters. My style newsletters. Ya know?
So today I’m going to write about what my viiiiibe is right now. What I’m obsessed with. And then next week I’m going to share a minute-by-minute recap of my latest anxiety spiral. A girl who can do it all.
1: Flowers. Will tell you more later. But they just change everything ya know?
2: Silver. Gold gets too much press. Silver is sexy! At least right now.
3: Getting over it. Acceptance. I just smashed my iPad and lost all the art on it. Yes, you read that correctly :) But honestly, I’ve needed a new one for a while. I’ve wanted to take my art to the next level and come up with new ways of selling prints (THINK: ART I HAND DREW ON PAPER) So I literally decided to get over it and take it as a sign.
The only downside is that I have to redraw a bunch of portraits that are on it— but it’s just an opportunity for more practice you know? My naked body in the jarring, fluorescent lighting at Reformation means nothing to me. I am just me. This could be a whole newsletter I know. But today it’s just a vibe. Acceptance!
4: Relationships. Whether it’s a friendship, a coworker, your lover, or maybe one of your many lovers, I’m in the mood to strengthen them. My astrology app (CHANI) let me know that during this week there is strength in teamwork right now and I have to agree. Call your mom, be clingy to your boyfriend, go on a long walk with a friend.
Are any of us really self-made? I think I needed a reminder that I get by with a little help from my friends.
5: VESTS: not puffy vests, not sweater vests. Suit vests.
Why is there importance in calling out your vibes? Because it’s fun. It makes you feel like a fashion editor. It reminds you that you can create a beautiful life. It’s a creativity prompt. It can serve as a manifestation practice. It makes you feel like a celebrity or creative director. And here’s the thing: you are a creative director! Of your own life!
Oops, this ended up being a little mental health-y didn’t it?
Post your vibes and tag me on Instagram so I can celebrate? Email your vibes to me? Make a GD mood board.
Xx Chloe
Oh, another vibe? The song recc of the week:
