The idea of romanticizing your life is huge right now. As we’re all auditioning to play the main characters in our own lives, I think the mundane becomes kinda magic and we all take better care of ourselves.
I think it’s good!
It’s interesting.
I have been in a zone where I’ve decided I’m going to buy a condo! A financial opportunity, sure, but mostly because I wanted a space I could do anything to. Paint the cabinetry change the faucet. I hate home projects but I love a beautiful home, ya know? I decided in my mind that when my lease was up at my current place (which I am in love with) I will patch the pain up by simply *purchasing a condo* In this market? Easy!
I hopped onto my mint app and set up a budget and I told my boyfriend to yell at me if I purchased any clothing now until March. (I shop a lot and taking three months off would honestly make a big difference) Luckily he works at home and I can’t hide packages from him. Additionally he is from the east coast so he is mean.
Tonight I was scrolling through an account I love on Instagram, she’s a fashion editor I look up to. She posted about moving into an LA Apt and the decorating process and I was instantly drawn into her story, her character development. And I had the thought, “if she doesn’t own a place and rents in LA and is 7 years older than me then who cares if I rent forever! Renting is hot! Renting is the way to go!”
I realized that somewhere along the road I had picked up someone else’s character storyline and decided a condo would make me happy, and then I decided to get caught up in someone else’s storyline and decide… to not buy a condo?
Obviously we all know there’s no timeline we should stick to in our lives. The founder of KFC was like 80 when he started it right? The truth is that a condo is a great investment. The truth is that if I did rent for the rest of my life that would be equally fine and beautiful.
But the point is: we have the ability to be thrilled about anything that’s happening in life! Here’s the thing, you have the ability to romanticize the process of buying a condo, building a home, renting, romanticize living in your college dorm, romanticize living at your parents, as long as you’re working to build a live you love. You can make almost anything beautiful if you do it in your own way.

Here’s your song recommendation of the week:
So does that mean you’re still not buying clothes until March? I did a little self challenge to not buy anything non essential for the month of January and boy it’s a challenge!
