Happy Monday lovers!
Here are three quick thoughts and things I am going to try, continue doing, or aspire to do this week.
One; taking sips, breaths, and chewing more. I tend to run a little anxious, a little rushed, a little on edge. I’ll wait too long to drink water, and get so thirsty I down my entire Stanley in three gulps. I’d like to sip it throughout the day instead. Sometimes my boyfriend has to remind me to breathe. I am constantly holding my breath (note to self: get back into breathwork practice) By now you’re catching on— when I am eating I tend to swallow things whole. There’s not a lot of chewing, and eat my food in a race against myself. Not only is this bad for digestion, but it’s bad for the vibes. Have you ever swallowed sourdough crust whole? I have! It might be why I choke on my spit so much? TMI? Food is meant to be enjoyed in the present moment. Chew it and enjoy it!
I also might start drinking tea again.
Two; moving on. On Saturday night I was randomly kind of rude to my boyfriend and snapped at him for no reason. In the morning I woke up and was like “What the hell?” so I apologized to him before I even got out of bed. He then told me it was ok and then acted completely normal the rest of the day. He didn’t act weird or hold it against me. I find it freeing and inspiring the way he moves forward and lets things go!
Three; grinding my coffee beans. In 2023 my boyfriend and I (his name is Nick if you’re new) have been suuuuper intentional about what we eat and buy. I’ll catch him whispering to fresh fish thanking it for the nourishment while he prepares it, and I am unfortunately addicted to $12 butter (It’s FRENCH!) We recently hunkered down and decided we needed to replace our Dunkin Donuts ground coffee and buy some local beans. Grind them ourselves. And my god, were we right! Not only does it taste amazing, but it feels amazing, it smells amazing. I love how it’s changed my coffee routine. I think you could apply this intention and effort to any routine, even if you don’t drink coffee.
Let me know what’s on your mind, what you’re experimenting with, and if you too forget to breathe. Because here’s the thing, life is just one big experiment and every week is a new opportunity to try something new.
Mwah!
Welcome to the roasted coffee game! We love to pick up beans on trips and bring it home to ease back into life. It's been a great way to explore what type of coffee we like!
