Once a year I get this itch to get my sh*t together. Here’s last year’s moment.
I started to get this itch last Sunday (hello eclipse season!) We were about to have a family service for our passed pup, Ruby that evening. I was pretty anxious. I was torn up about losing my family dog and knew this would be an emotional night. I decided that this means I should probably take a full day to take really good care of myself. I deep cleaned nooks and crannies I didn’t know existed, I exfoliated and moisturized, and I washed my airpod cushions and makeup brushes. I made myself tea, and then a cocktail in full transparency. I washed my sheets and even flossed.
I felt so good— is this why people do stuff like this all the time?
Today I got a facial straight out of heaven. As my friend Sydney brushed my hair with love from my scalp to my cracking ends, I felt this primal sense of peace and womanhood. Like I wanted to nurture myself and the women around me. We have to surrender to self-care, you guys!
Self-care can mean a lot of things, we’ve all seen the Instagram graphics. Today self-care is all about the senses. Your surroundings. Your body. Today self-care is the face masks and the flossing and the bubble baths, and the deep cleaning before bed.
Energetically, the act of taking care of yourself and your things can really take you to the next level. Cleansing your home of the things that are taking up space to make room for new things, or even space to breathe. I even believe that when my office is messy and cluttered I will receive fewer orders in my business because the space isn’t prepared to function, and the energy isn’t set.
In the spirit of abundance, I spent the week keeping my house very clean. On Sunday I cleaned out my terrifying car and even organized my even more terrifying office. Even after decluttering, my car is drenched in dog drool and had piles of dog hair, #momlife, so I excitedly booked a car deep cleaning.
I hunkered down and ordered rugs for my living room and bedroom, tampons for my guest bathroom, and other random things for my space to make it feel absolutely luxurious.
So here’s your yearly check-in, level up list:
If you have a car: Schedule a car detail (TREAT YOURSELF) or give it a deep clean.
If you have the means, schedule a facial or give yourself one.
Clean out your purse and your wallet of trash, rotting lip gloss, and piles of receipts.
Donate the books you don’t read.
Make a list of the little things your house needs: from hand towels and dish towels to an extra charger or even a piece of furniture. Not a lot of budget to work with? You know where I am going with this. Thrift store.
Clean out the closet if you’re really committed
Delete the excess screenshots, duplicate images, and other unwanted photos at the end of the day to avoid a crowded photo library.
Take time to carefully and lovingly take care of yourself. Have a pretty comb and when you comb your hair, make sure you’re not scrolling tik tok at the same time. Unless of course, you’re watching my videos
Kidding
Go to your tea cupboard and actually make some tea. I personally have 12 different boxes of tea and make maybe 3 cups a year. I’m in the process of changing this.
If you’re like me you have bowls of jewelry that you love but never wear (work-from-home vibes), and I’m going to start wearing some of it.
The rest is up to you, we all live a little differently. But here’s the thing, right now feels like a good time to start from scratch.

Just what I needed today!
