The title of this newsletter, “heat your coffee” might be misleading, like I’m trying to convince you that hot coffee is better than iced, for your health or something. But I’ll go ahead and let you know right now what this newsletter is about:
taking time for yourself.
This morning I realized we were out of coffee grounds and whipped out a pod for my ol’ Nespresso machine. It was a latte, so I separately frothed my milk. My new frother is a huge disappointment, it doesn’t heat the milk at all, and it actually froths way too much, so I’m left with a piping hot espresso shot and a cup of cold foam. Not exactly comforting. But I wanted to immediately start drinking it (for some reason) and we don’t have a microwave, so I sat down for my morning reading and started sipping.
And let me tell ya, this cup of coffee sucked so bad. And I realized, why on earth am I obsessed with saving 4 minutes of my time at 6:37 am? I promptly whipped out my saucer and poured the latte in, letting it heat up and letting some of the foam die down a bit. I even added a drop of stevia and then whisked in some coconut vanilla collagen. It took, maybe 61 seconds to warm up, then I transferred it into my mug and went back to my window reading spot.
And let me tell ya: it was the best coffee ever. It was genuinely the smoothest, warmest, most delicious, most comforting cup of coffee I have ever had. With the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. The morning instantly became glorious and I woke right up as I did my reading and had one of my best meditations in a while. It literally made me feel magical and abundant and helped me enjoy my morning.
So take out the saucer pan and heat up your coffee, or whatever that means to you. Because here’s the thing: it’s Monday, and one day it will be Wednesday. Soon after? Sunday and you’re doing it all over again— so why not enjoy the small moments of each day.
Why not enjoy yourself?
Xx Chloe
